Swim for Charity Tilburg

On 14 March, Avalon from Tilburg is organizing the fifth edition of “Swim for Charity”!
In a team, you will swim continuously from 8:30 PM until 2:30 AM to support a good cause. This year, there is no limit to the number of participants per team. A maximum of four people can be on the pool deck and swimming at the same time.

Charity

This year’s charity is the Princess Margriet Fund.

Natural disasters such as floods, droughts, hurricanes, and heatwaves have affected more than 1.7 billion people over the past decade and continue to impact millions every year. These disasters destroy homes, crops, and livelihoods, forcing families to rebuild again and again.

Worldwide, billions are spent on emergency relief, while much of this suffering and damage could be prevented through early action. That is why the Princess Margriet Fund of the Netherlands Red Cross exists.
More information about the charity can be found on the Swim for Charity website: [Link]

Costs

The participation fee for this event is €12.50 per person.

Finding sponsors

Once you have registered for Swim for Charity, you can start looking for sponsors. Think of family members, acquaintances, and all your LinkedIn connections. Donations of any amount are welcome, every euro counts!
Together with all Hydrofiel members, we will form a group with a shared group page where donations can be tracked. More information about this will follow later.

Times, accommodation, and travel

The event starts at 8:30 PM, but we will arrive a bit earlier for proper preparation. We will travel to the event as a group by public transport. Since we will be swimming late into the night (until 2:30 AM), it is recommended to rent an OV-fiets in Tilburg to travel back to the accommodation at night.

We will be able to stay overnight at members’ homes of Avalon, so please indicate in your registration whether you would like to stay overnight on Saturday or not. The following morning, we will travel back to Nijmegen together by train.
